BNG Culture Fund

To support projects in the field of art and culture across the Netherlands, Stichting BNG Culture Fund was established. The fund also works to develop emerging talent by presenting awards in disciplines such as theatre, literature, circus, music, and dance. Each year, there is also an award for municipalities that excel in the field of heritage.

About BNG Culture Fund

In 1964, on our 50th anniversary, we founded Stichting BNG Culture Fund. The board of the BNG Culture Fund operates independently. The board is advised in its decision-making by an advisory committee, which includes representatives from various artistic disciplines.

Joke van Vliet wins BNG Literature Award 2025
26 February 2026
Joke van Vliet has won the BNG Literature Award 2025 for her book Niets is echt gebeurd (Nothing Really Happened). The award was presented on 26 February by jury chairman Pieter Jeroense at the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam. The jury described the book as a “stylistically gifted, psychologically layered and accurate novel in which the tension is greatly heightened”.

Nominations for the BNG Heritage Award 2026 announced!
19 February 2026
The municipalities of Emmen, Maassluis and Tilburg have been nominated for the BNG Heritage Award 2026, with the theme “industrial heritage”. According to the jury, these three stood out on the longlist because of their active and forward-looking approach to industrial heritage. Emmen, Maassluis and Tilburg realise that their heritage extends beyond physical locations and therefore focus on their residents and heritage communities. There is room for all facets of the industrial past.

Nominations for the BNG Literature Prize 2025

The jury has nominated four authors for the BNG Literature Prize 2025, which will be awarded in February 2026.
