We manage the cash flows of the government settlement. To this end, each local authority maintains a current account with BNG. We facilitate the cash flows between the Ministry of Finance and the local authority. Credits are made available to the local authority and any claims by the Ministry are automatically debited. If you receive funds from the state via the government settlement, you will always receive the best possible interest rate at BNG. This is because we execute the cash flows for the government settlement and does not charge the parties involved any currency conversion fees.
