Organization BNG Culture Fund

The BNG Culture Fund has an advisory committee that meets four times a year to assess the submitted applications for arts and culture projects. The committee issues its recommendations to the Board. Following each meeting of the advisory committee, a Board meeting is held in which the Board discusses the recommendations and decides whether or not to ratify them.

Advisory Committee

The advisory committee consists of six experts from the cultural sector, with expertise in the fields of heritage, performing arts and visual arts. The chair is always a member of the Board of the BNG Culture Fund. The advisory committee is composed as follows:

  • Pieter Heiliegers, Chair and Mayor of Uithoorn
  • Wulan Dumatubun, Committee Member Cultural Projects Municipality of The Hague
  • Mijke Godschalk, Accountmanager Funds at International Theater Amsterdam
  • Lieneke Hulshof, Art Journalist, Curator and Professional Arts Lecturer
  • Guy van Hulst, Music Programmer Jazz Tivoli Vredenburg
  • Leonie Wingen, Heritage & Participation Adviser
  • Lieven Cooiman, Head theatre programma at Kunstlinie, Almere

The advisory committee members receive a meeting fee, except for the chair.  

Board

The Board consists of five mayors, one cultural expert and a representative of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG). The board of the BNG Culture Fund is composed as follows:  

  • Ron König, Chair and Mayor of Deventer
  • In-Soo Radstake, Vice Chair, Film Producer and Director
  • Cora-Yfke Sikkema, Mayor of Oldambt
  • Jannewietske de Vries, Mayor of Sûdwest-Fryslân
  • Margo Mulder, Mayor of Bergen op Zoom
  • Pieter Heiliegers, Mayor of Uithoorn
  • Pieter Jeroense, Deputy Director‑General of the VNG & Director/Executive of VNG International.

Board members do not receive any remuneration.

Secretary

The secretary of the BNG Culture Fund is employed by BNG Bank and is since 1 March 2025 Ana Buzón.
