Making the housing market attainable to all. That’s what we strive for at BNG. The Netherlands faces a shortage of social and mid-range rental homes. At the same time, sustainability remains a key concern. By using financing intelligently, we contribute not only to affordable housing, but also to a more sustainable living environment.

Our role in housing finance

Social housing is once again high on the political and public agenda. Housing associations have committed to concrete targets as part of the National Performance Agreements. The sector faces significant challenges, such as limited land availability, grid congestion, and rising construction and interest costs. This calls for creative solutions and strong collaboration. As a connecting partner, we support housing associations in achieving their objectives.

What types of financing do we offer?

As the market leader in the housing association sector, we finance projects that support the social objectives of housing associations. Our financing package focuses on sustainability, social housing, and mid-range rental projects. In doing so, we support the entire investment task set out in the National Performance Agreements. We offer:

  • WSW-guaranteed loans for activities in social housing and community real estate

  • Non-DAEB financing for investments in areas such as mid-range rental housing
  • Working capital, such as current account credit facilities

We ensure continuous access to financing on favourable terms. Our ESG bonds offer sustainable investment opportunities and enhance the sector’s profile on the international capital markets by attracting a broader range of investors.

Financing always available

We are committed to ensuring continuous access to financing on favourable terms. Our ESG bonds strengthen the sector’s profile on international capital markets. We do this by offering sustainable investment opportunities that attract more investors.
