BNG issues USD 2bn 10 Year Benchmark
8 January 2026
In the first issuance week of January, BNG took advantage of constructive USD-market conditions to successfully issue a new USD 2 billion 10-year benchmark. The transaction gained strong momentum from the outset, generating Indications of Interest (“IOIs”) in excess of USD 3.1bn. The orderbook continued to build steadily throughout the process, reaching a final book size of USD 7.9bn excluding Joint Lead Manager interest.

BNG appoints Norbert Siegers as its new Chief Operating Officer
5 January 2026
The Hague, 5 January 2025 – BNG has appointed Norbert Siegers as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). In line with the ongoing organisational restructuring, he will begin on 5 January 2026 as COO designate, preparing the transition to the newly defined COO domain. He will formally assume the COO role on 7 May 2026, following approval of the appointment by the supervisory authority.

ESG-driven investment: green loans as a driver for sustainable housing

In the Dutch social housing sector, making homes more sustainable is essential for creating future-proof residential areas and neighbourhoods. BNG wants to use green loans to provide a financial incentive to accelerate sustainability together with its clients. The pilot launched with housing associations Alwel, De Alliantie and Ymere is promising. BNG is ready to further expand this new form of financing.

Climate targets BNG validated by Science Based Targets initiative

The renowned Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has reviewed and approved BNG's CO₂e reduction targets. This concerns both the targets for our own business operations and a large part of our loan and bond portfolios, with 2030 as the target year. This validation shows that our climate targets are scientifically underpinned and fit in with the scenario in which global warming is limited to a maximum of 1.5°C.

This underlines our effectiveness in responding to the substantial public funding needs and investment challenges, as well as our resilience in a period marked by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty, and significant volatility in the financial markets. Our capital and liquidity position remained consistently strong.
