Public Infrastructure & Energy

At BNG, we support organisations and sectors that address societal challenges such as the energy and heat transition, the circular economy, and spatial development for housing and work. Our financing focuses on utilities (water, electricity, gas, and heat), infrastructure (ports and public transport), renewable energy, waste management and area development.

Our role in financing Public Infrastructure & Energy

Through financial solutions, we assist utility companies and governments in making public services future-proof. These collaborations often involve Dutch municipalities and the national government. Large-scale, long-term investments are central to this work. Projects such as ports, public transport, and waste management are typically offered to society on a cost-based tariff model. Our focus on renewable energy and circular systems helps the Netherlands tackle societal challenges. By investing together, we promote a strong and sustainable future for the country.

What types of financing do we offer?

BNG works together with utility companies and public authorities that develop, implement, and manage public services in the Netherlands. Our Public Infrastructure & Energy team provides high-quality, specialised financing solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client. We offer both guaranteed and non-guaranteed loans as part of balance sheet and project financing, and develop (guarantee) funds and structures that help our stakeholders make an impact.
