Noorderpoort brings together 16 different schools with approximately 14,000 students, 1,000 course participants and 1,400 employees from the province of Groningen and the city of Assen. Noorderpoort is big, but it chooses to be 'small'. Noorderpoort is made up of manageable schools with their own character where everyone knows each other.

BNG has provided around EUR 43 million in financing for a range of renovation and construction projects on school buildings in and around Groningen.
