Energy-producing homes from the Domijn housing association in Overdinkel

The four energy-producing homes are optimally insulated and energy efficient. The house covers both the residents' electrical heating needs and the energy consumption of their household appliances.

Domijn - Energieleverende woningen in Overdinkel.

n 2013, housing association Domijn completed a block of four energy-producing homes. The homes on Prins Bernhardstraat in Overdinkel are optimally insulated and energy efficient. Each home has a total of 36 solar panels on the roof. This allows the home to cover both its electrical heating needs and the energy consumption of the residents' household appliances. This means that no gas or central heating boiler has been installed in the homes.

The design for the homes was created in response to a competition organised by the Domijn housing association. Domijn carried out the construction of the energy-producing homes as part of the “Hart voor Overdinkel” programme. Domijn and the municipality of Losser are the driving forces behind this programme. Within this programme, 500 homes, roads and other public areas are being upgraded and retention areas are being created both in the village and on its outskirts.
