We have worked closely with SVRZ for 75 years and, as its principal banker, play an important role in financing sustainability projects. The collaboration is based on direct communication, mutual trust and a shared vision of healthcare real estate development. Thanks to our balance sheet financing and SVRZ’s sound financial position, the organisation largely finances sustainability from its own cash flow.

SVRZ is working on an ambitious energy transition master plan and aims to be nearly gas-free by 2030. Since 2018, gas consumption has already been reduced by 50%, partly due to the installation of more than 50 heat pumps. Many of these systems have a cooling function, which enhances the comfort for customers, especially during hot summers. Previous investments in new constructions have ensured that the buildings – most of which date from the 2000s – are already well insulated. This makes it easier to switch to energy-efficient systems. In addition, significant investments were made in solar panels and renewable electricity.

In 2024, SVRZ had its 45 properties revalued, with sustainability playing an increasingly important role in this regard. A preliminary check confirmed that all the properties have energy label A or higher, which boosts their market value. SVRZ continues to invest in sustainability in order to further reduce CO2 emissions and ensure its real estate portfolio remains future-proof.

The new nursing ward of the Sint Maartenskliniek in Ubbergen is bright, green and pleasant. It doesn’t feel like a traditional hospital. This is the result of a thorough renovation. With this renovation, which was financed by BNG, the hospital is preparing for the care demands of the future.

We both have a social mission, which helps us reinforce one another
23 April 2024
Are you feeling mentally strained and does this lead to a crisis? Then you naturally prefer to recover at home. Still, a clinical admission is necessary sometimes. GGZ Noord-Holland-Noord is working hard to provide this care as professionally as possible – in an environment that promotes recovery. It does this, among other things, by building new, up-to-date facilities made possible in part by smart financing from BNG.
