The MeanderGroep in Kerkrade will be implementing its ‘Lead your own life’ healthcare vision with €80 million in funding from BNG Bank. Among other things, the group will be initiating construction projects, purchasing technology and ensuring the necessary infrastructure adjustments.

To maintain the quality of healthcare and meet the increasing and more intensive demand for healthcare, healthcare institutions must constantly invest. MeanderGroep’s healthcare vision, ‘lead your own life’, aims to enable people to stay in control of their life, even when this becomes more difficult due to physical or mental impairments. It’s about helping people to maintain their independence as much as possible, preferably by continuing to live at home. Or, if it’s absolutely necessary, in one of the care homes or residential units linked to care homes.
Michael Ehlen, board member of the MeanderGroep: “It’s great to have a partner who understands our core purpose. The ultimate goal of all our investments is obviously to raise the quality of life of older people to a higher level. There’s no need for us to explain that to each other.
Fred Reynaers, senior account manager at BNG Bank: “We understand where Meander wants to go. There are certainly problems with an ageing population in this region, which calls for a sound and clear vision for the future. Meander has certainly got that. We are pleased to be able to contribute as a bank. It ties in with our strategy to contribute to good and accessible healthcare in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.”

BNG Bank is of and for the public sector. Everything we do revolves around creating social impact. This is why we are financing the plans of the MeanderGroep. It will allow them to promote the quality of life of the elderly and the continuity of their social network. We talk to our clients about these kinds of choices. Our activities revolve around social impact rather than profit. That’s what drives us.
