The Veemgebouw (a listed building owned by Trudo) in the centre of Eindhoven is currently undergoing major renovation and will soon offer working, shopping, research, catering, events and living under one roof. The first 39 Plek® homes will be built on top of the Veemgebouw. Plek® was launched in April 2021 as the go-to place for mid-priced rental homes on the Eindhoven housing market from housing associations Wooninc., Stayinc. (the independent subsidiary of Wooninc. housing association, focused on mid-priced rentals) and Trudo.

Stayinc. is developing 330 sustainable new-build homes in the city centre. Construction will start in 2023. De Majoor, with 59 rental apartments, will be built on Veldmaarschalk Montgomerylaan. Trudo is developing projects on Veestraat (20 homes) and Tivoli (14 homes). Stayinc. is developing 112 apartments in the Achtse Barrier in Eindhoven, with a mix of social housing and private sector housing, including mid-range rentals. In total, Trudo and Stayinc. aim to add 2,000 to 2,800 homes to Eindhoven's housing stock over the next fifteen years.

Ambitious programme

The parties are presenting an ambitious programme. In addition to rent, the Slimmer Kopen® concept, launched by Trudo at the beginning of this century, will also be included in this initiative. This will enable people on middle incomes to purchase a home at a discount.

Barneveld housing association: a sustainable future for the Oude Bloemen district
24 July 2025
Barneveld housing association has made 79 houses in the Oude Bloemenbuurt more sustainable. It worked with building contractor Van Wijnen and obtained funding from BNG to implement various energy-saving measures, including the insulation of the buildings’ outer shell and the installation of solar panels. The measures have reduced carbon emissions and energy costs, and provide greater comfort for residents. This project is a perfect illustration of how housing associations can accelerate sustainability through smart partnerships.

Wocozon: making social rental housing more sustainable
1 December 2022
Every year, the Wocozon Foundation provides several thousand social rental homes throughout the Netherlands with solar panel installations. So far, it has provided 35,000 installations and counting. As a result, it is greatly contributing to making the social real estate of housing corporations more sustainable and to keeping the energy costs of tenants in the social sector affordable. BNG Bank has been supporting Wocozon with suitable financing since 2015, enabling the foundation to grow from a start-up into a company with more than 175 employees. Roland van der Klauw, founder and director of Wocozon: ‘BNG Bank is truly a partner in sustainability.’
