The appointments run until 2030.

Following the leave of Leonard Geluk, BNG was seeking a new Supervisory Board member with a strong foundation in the world of municipalities and other public sector organisations. This profile is met by Elly Blanksma (1959). Until recently, Blanksma served as Acting Mayor of Someren and previously spent twelve years as Mayor of Helmond. Prior to that, she worked for many years within the Rabobank organisation and was active in national and provincial politics. She brings extensive experience in public service delivery, national and local government, and financial affairs.

In the search for a successor to Marlies van Elst, the focus was on expertise in IT, operations and risk. Arjen Dorland (1955) has extensive experience in technical, advisory and senior management roles in the fields of information technology, digital innovation and energy transition, including at Shell. Following earlier supervisory roles at, among others, ABN AMRO Bank, Robeco and Naturalis, he currently serves as Vice Chair of the Supervisory Board of Essent. At BNG, Dorland will be a member of the Risk Committee.

Broad expertise for the future

With the appointment of Blanksma and Dorland, the Supervisory Board continues to benefit from a broad range of expertise, spanning public service delivery and financial issues as well as digital innovation and risk management. This ensures that the Board is well equipped to guide BNG in addressing the societal and financial challenges of the years ahead.
