Nominations for the BNG Bank Literature Award 2019 announced

The BNG Bank Literature Award is an award for young writers with a young body of work. The prize consists of a sculpture by artist Theo van Eldik and a sum of 15,000 euros. The jury has nominated three writers for the BNG Bank Literature Award 2019.

The nominees are:

  • Willemijn van Dijk -  Het wit en het purper (Ambo|Anthos)
  • Tom Hofland -  Vele vreemde vormen (Querido)
  • Niña Weijers -  Kamers Antikamers (Atlas Contact)

Jury

The jury consists of four members: jury chair Hetty Hafkamp (mayor of Bergen, North Holland), Jacqueline Bel (professor of Modern Dutch Literature at VU University Amsterdam), Arjan Peters (literary critic and editor of de Volkskrant) and Arie Storm (writer and critic).

Readers' jury

The Readers' Jury, consisting of people who work at BNG Bank, also selects a winner from the three nominees. This winner is entitled to a month's stay at the Roland Holsthuis in Bergen.

Award ceremony

On Thursday 16 January 2020, the BNG Bank Literature Prize 2019 will be awarded in the Amstelkerk on the Amstelveld in Amsterdam. Start: 4.30 p.m. From 5 p.m., the authors will be introduced and the winner will be announced.
