Pre employment screening

Pre-employment screening – carried out by International Security Partners (ISP) on behalf of BNG
Description/purposes
A check of the integrity and reliability of applicants by:
  • Having an online integrity questionnaire completed
  • Verifying their identity and verifying that ID documents are genuine and not registered as missing or stolen
  • Checking the highest diploma obtained through DUO to confirm educational claims
  • Carrying out a reference check for two specified references
  • Applying for a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) to assess criminal risks
  • Analysing the CV and employment history for completeness and subsequent periods
  • Consulting the insolvency register to verify financial integrity
  • Checking whether the applicant appears on sanctions lists

Basis
Legitimate interest (Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR) – BNG’s interest in establishing the reliability and integrity of applicants. The Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft) and the Dutch Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft) require banks to assess the integrity and reliability of employees. Screening against sanction lists is carried out as part of BNG’s legitimate interest to manage integrity risks.

Description/purposes
A check of the integrity and reliability of applicants by:
  • Checking whether an applicant appears in disciplinary records (violation of the banker's oath).
  • Performing an ‘EVA check’ to determine whether there are signs of fraud or serious incidents within the financial sector (test of the Incidents Warning System for Financial Institutions).
  • Complying with legal obligations under the Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft) and the Dutch Anti Money Laundering Act (Wwft) to mitigate risks of fraud, money laundering and integrity violations.
