Frequently asked questions about Digipass App

The Digipass App allows you to log in securely to My BNG via your mobile device and confirm transactions without needing a fixed password.

You can use the Digipass App on a smartphone and/or tablet. The app is available for iOS (12.1 or higher), Android (5.0 or higher) and Google. Please note: the device must not have been modified without authorisation (“jailbroken” or “rooted”).

The Digipass App can be downloaded from the iOS and Android app stores. Search for “BNG Bank”. The app is not available for Google devices.

Are you using the Digipass App in addition to the physical Digipass? Then there are no additional costs. For more information, see the rate overview.

You can install the Digipass App on multiple devices. This can be done on different smartphones or tablets. Please note that the number of statuses may not exceed 99. Want to see how many statuses are registered? Go to “My Profile”, then “Payment preferences”, click on “Digipass App” and tick “Show all”.

Follow the steps below to activate the Digipass app on a device:

  1. Log in to My BNG and go to ‘BNG Payment Transactions’
  2. Select: ‘My profile’ > ‘Payment preferences’ > ‘Digipass App’
  3. Select ‘Activate Digipass App’ and scan the colour code with the new mobile device
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen

Before you can use the app, your organisation's My BNG administrator must authorise this. This can be done via the “Manage Digipasses” option in My BNG. Once this has been done, activate the app by logging in with your physical Digipass and then going to “Manage Digipass Apps” in My BNG.

More information about activation can be found in the User Instructions for Installing the Digipass App (pdf, 785 kB).

You cannot activate the Digipass App for yourself. In this case, our customer service department can do this for you. To do so, please send the Digipass Form (pdf, 458 kB) with the option “Allow Digipass App use” to our customer service department.

To activate a Digipass App, your organisation must first request it. This is the case if you see the option “Manage Digipass App” in the My BNG menu. If this option is not available, please contact your organisation's My BNG administrator. For more information, please refer to the User Instructions for Installing the Digipass App (pdf, 785 kB).

You need the physical Digipass to activate the Digipass App. Once you have done so, you can store it away safely. If you no longer have an active Digipass App, you will need to log in again using the physical Digipass.
