What will you be doing?

  • An integration specialist supports delivery teams in developing integrations by “lead by example, do it together, do it yourself.”
  • Answering technical questions and resolving integration issues.
  • Training end users and technical staff in how integrations work.
  • Supporting architecture and delivery teams in designing, building, and testing integrations.
  • Monitoring integration processes and performance.
  • Making the delivery process more agile and efficient.
  • Setting up automated monitoring for the technical platform and components.
  • Developing, documenting, and implementing standards such as integration patterns, naming conventions, and integration designs.
  • Creating starter templates and integration patterns for data transformation (e.g., JSON to XML/CSV).
  • Identifying and correcting deviations in integration projects.
  • Assessing and approving integration designs based on the reference architecture.
  • Contributing to the integration catalog by automating an up-to-date library with APIs, adapters, and stubs.

Your workplace

Objective of the IT4IT department: The IT4IT department facilitates development teams and IT production systems with automation as an accelerator. By applying intelligent automation, we streamline repetitive tasks, reduce process lead times, and increase the First Time Right ratio.
You report to the Manager IT4IT and you are part of the IT4IT department. The team also contributes to the technical implementation of BNG’s strategy, with a focus on integration architecture. The team forms a bridge between architecture and delivery teams. Naturally, the team applies modern Agile methods such as Kanban, Agile Design Thinking, and Azure DevOps.
The IT4IT department consists of approximately 12 employees, including the Manager IT4IT and Cloud Engineers. You will mainly collaborate with your own team and DevOps teams.

What we ask of you

  • You have a higher professional/university (HBO/WO) level of thinking and working; a completed degree such as Technical Computer Science or Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services and cloud integrations (Service Bus, Functions, Data Factory, API Management, API Center, Event Hub, Event Grid, and Logic Apps).
  • Knowledge of integration architecture, patterns, and data transformations (e.g., Pub/Sub, Async request-reply, and Retry Pattern).
  • Strong communication skills to train and guide teams.
  • Experience in developing generic components such as templates and snippets.
  • Problem-solving ability and a structured approach.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT, data, digitalization, and process management, enabling effective collaboration in a digitally and process-driven organization where customers increasingly do business digitally with BNG.
  • Basic knowledge of how a bank operates. This enables you to understand processes, products, and regulations within a financial institution, allowing you to contribute effectively in an environment where social responsibility and financial services come together.
